Howie is the author of two dental best sellers, Unlimited New Patients,
Volume ONE and Unlimited New Patients, Volume TWO; Trade Secrets of America's
Dental Marketing Guru. He is the Founder and CEO of New Patients, Inc., the
advertising agency exclusively for dentists.
Howie started in advertising in 1984. He wrote ad campaigns for a myriad of businesses including photographers, retail suppliers, software companies, manufacturing companies, sandwich shops, caterers, artists, print companies, accountants, podiatrists, chiropractors, a national sports figure and yes, even a lawyer or two.
He was then introduced to a dentist who referred him to another and then another and before long he realized that working only with dentists was what he wanted to do. Since 1989 he has worked exclusively with some of the top dental practices in the US and Canada.
He has authored articles on the subject of new patient marketing for publications such as Dental Economics, Dental Products Report, Dentaltown Magazine, The Richards Report, The Independent Dentist, The Advertising Dentist, The Farran Report, Dental Practice and Finance and others. He also co-moderates Dr. Howard Farran's Dentaltown.com marketing forum.
His books have sold in nearly every country in the world. He also makes personal appearances at seminars, conventions and other dental meetings.

He works very closely with Jay Ostendarp and Jane Shewman. Heather comes to us with over 20 years experience in Annuity Operations with
Lincoln Financial Group. There she played a large part in continuous
improvements on processes, products and technology. She held corporate training
positions as well as management positions throughout the organization during her
tenure there. She played an important role in several major technology
implementations that impacted several different departments within the
organization. Her expertise in procedure writing, process improvements,
management, and quality control are some of her biggest assets that she brings.
She is also Six Sigma Certified allowing her to ensure processes are as
efficient as possible.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Her kids keep her very busy with baseball and basketball practices and games and she loves every minute of it.
Vice President of Professional Relations, has over
19 years of hands-on marketing experience specific to the dental profession. Lee
has devoted his marketing expertise working with many dental practices all over
the United States and Canada to develop innovative and comprehensive marketing
programs. Lee particularly excelled in applying creative marketing and
advertising strategies to help practices increase their patient base, market
penetration and overall production and resulting revenue. Prior to joining New
Patients Inc., Mr. Buzard was, Director of Marketing and Growth at Digital
Dental Strategies, Inc., where he was responsible for helping educate dentists
about the importance of internet marketing for the dental practices while also
developing B2B connections and agreement along with vertical and horizontal
digital marketing products for the company.
During this same period of time Mr. Buzard was a featured speaker at the Madow Group. He spoke live at regional meeting in the U.S and Canada. He also presented monthly on a national teleconference call as well as one of the key note speakers at the annual Madow Powerhouse meeting in Baltimore, MD. Prior to joining DDS.com Mr. Buzard purchased and co-owned multiple dental practices, finding him driven with the dental industry and the people in it. This is where he used his marketing and management experience from the private marketing sector to market and grow the dental practices. This is why many have referred to him as a "wet fingered marketing guy." He has walked in the same dental office ownership trenches that many of his clients have. He truly understands when you say; what should I do?
Lee has extensive marketing experience, and insightful expertise which have been instrumental in developing and executing strategic marketing plans for hundreds of dentists. Mr. Buzards' talents, hands-on approach, and dental-specific know-how, coupled with the multi-disciplined abilities and knowledge of the rest of the NPI team creates a rare opportunity for you to have this depth of skill on your team to manage the entire marketing program for your practice.
In his spare time, Lee enjoys hiking, playing golf, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
Josh Jenne has lived in Las Vegas since 2007 and as New Patients Inc.'s marketing manager, brings a variety of knowledge to the table in the digital marketing sphere. Josh has managed multiple mediums, including lead generation, website design, social media, email marketing, print media, sales management, and company strategy.
Julie is a passionate manager and coach who believes in keeping the business of dentistry simple by utilizing systems and accountability along with gentle coaching and consistent training. She has been in the dental field for 39 years, managing and coaching practices for over 20. Julie began her career in dentistry as an assistant in her hometown of Las Vegas, NV. Upon moving to New Jersey, switched her focus to the business aspect of dentistry. Julie is a lifetime member, Ambassador and Fellow of AADOM. She has a thirst for learning and enjoys sharing her passion for dentistry as a mentor for team members, encouraging each to embrace change and growth. Julie enjoys traveling, reading, and fitness. Julie has recently returned to her hometown of Las Vegas joining the team at New Patients Inc. as Product Manager for Dental Web Content.
Wendy is very excited to be a part of this team! She previously worked in accounting at a law firm here in Vegas and is currently going to school for Criminal Justice. Some of her favorite things are big cups of coffee, dogs, hiking, and she is obsessed with her nieces and nephews! She definitely loves spending a lot of time with her family. She is also always interested in any volunteer events/actives and charity events in Vegas. She is always a cheerful person who likes to make people laugh.
Megan recently moved to Las Vegas from Washington state. She was previously Director of Customer Service for a high-end commercial linen company based out of Washington. Megan is very passionate about customer service and excited to be on board here at NPI! She enjoys spending time with family and friends. In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors and sightseeing, and she is always up for an adventure! She looks forward to meeting everyone and building new relationships here in Las Vegas and especially here at NPI.
Jay Ostendarp has been with New Patients, Inc. since 2006. Prior that that,
he served as managing director of a small business marketing consulting firm in
Charlotte, North Carolina. A former college athlete, he holds a Communications
degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, as well as an MBA
from Wake Forest University.
Through his 25-year career in sales and marketing, he has developed and implemented comprehensive strategic marketing programs for small and mid-sized companies in a multitude of industries, including healthcare and dental practices, along with manufacturing, sports & entertainment, non-profit, education, the arts and more. This experience, as well as his understanding of market trends dynamics, gives him a unique ability to see the value of products and services through the eyes of the customer, and create effective marketing programs that reach their targeted audiences.
I have worked in the dental profession for numerous years. Following a
yearlong dental assisting program at Northeastern/Tufts University, I accepted a
position with the Faculty Practice at Harvard University Dental School (one of
the first in the United States). This position exposed me to all fields of
dentistry. After leaving Harvard Dental School, I further honed my dental skills
in the field of Orthodontics both in Boston and when I relocated to California.
After my years of experience related to working in dental practices, I accepted
a position as a Dental Assistant Instructor at a private school teaching adults
as well as ROP (Regional Occupational Placement) students from the Compton/Long
When the school closed I decided to expand my knowledge in the dental industry and accepted a position with Unitek/3M as a Training Associate. This position was multifaceted. I was instrumental in training the sales reps (120+) to effectively detail Unitek's entire line of ortho/dental products. My other roles included on-going presentations to employees related to time management, sales skills and working closely with production on the importance of quality-finished products. A bonus was being asked to team with manufacturing in the development of new innovative products still used today.
I have lived in Las Vegas since 1990. A mutual associate introduced me to the developer/owner of DW Technology (developer of the Sani-Tip). When I accepted the position with DW Technology, I was the only employee. Over the next 8 years the company grew and expanded it's employee base. In 1998 the company was sold to Dentsply and I declined relocating to Dentsply in York, PA.
Subsequent to my decision to stay in Las Vegas, a business associate introduced me to Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). I accepted a position as the High-Tech Specialist. My role was liaison between the attendees and the high-tech products used at LVI. I maintained on-going relationships with major dental laser companies (ADT, HOYA ConBio); and other technologies i.e., neuromuscular devices, microscopes, intra-oral cameras and CAESY.
In 2006 I returned to school and obtained my Aesthetician License, which allowed me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge to include medical aesthetic devices and work independently with manufacturer's in dental and medical.
I have been an advisor with New Patients, Inc. since 2007. Outside of work I love to travel, read (my favorite subject is anything philosophical), exercising, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
a senior advisor at NPI, Sal focuses on analyzing prospective client market
areas, and the competition within those areas, then offers/explains products and
services to the prospective new client that make the most sense in their
particular situation. Sal's work reduces risk and provides the best impact for
the client's marketing dollar.
Prior to joining the NPI Team, Sal worked as a Bank Manager for Wells Fargo Bank. He is currently the Vice President for Capital K9 Association, a 501(c)(3) that provides ballistic vests and safety equipment for Police K9s across the nation. Sal enjoys spending time with family and friends, animals, traveling, hiking, camping, kayaking, and just about anything outdoors.
won both local and national awards for his work as a graphic designer and art
director. He has over 25 years experience working in advertising, marketing and
graphic design, and began working with New Patients, Inc. in 2003. He is a 1989
graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, with a B.A. in Journalism,
minor Graphic Communications.
Terry directs the flow of the website department, as well as works closely with clients on various print, direct mail and advertising projects.
When not at work, he enjoys creating and viewing art, writing, and vegetarian food.

for their company in a timely manner. She has earned a reputation for working
expeditiously and understanding each client's short and long term needs. Kathy
enjoys spending time with family.

Shirell married her husband Randy in 2013, and they are happily raising their granddaughter together.
is an innovative online marketing specialist with a special focus on mobile and
'wired' Internet. She has been a software, marketing and web development
instructor for the past twelve years with Community Futures Development
Corporation of Central Kootenay and Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC Canada.
Sharron provides web design, mobile site design, web marketing Search Engine
Optimzation and Social Media Marketing services to local and international
businesses. Sharron also developed the Internet Business Technology Diploma
Program, for Selkirk College and is currently the virtual instructor for this 17
course online program.
Sharron lives in the south eastern part of British Columbia Canada in a beautiful lush mountainous region and it is not uncommon for her to have bears, elk and other wildlife right outside her home office window. She loves to spend her spare time weight lifting, mountain biking and riding her motorbike.

Jake is an
artistic entrepreneur whose specialties include visual effects, video production
and editing, 3d visualization, and design. Since 2007, He has been operating his
freelance business, VFXJAKE, on a local and remote basis on projects ranging
from graphic and web design to interviews and promotional videos. He received
his M.S. in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Digital Media from East
Tennessee State University in 2008. In addition to his work with New Patients
Inc., Jake also serves as an editor, post artist, and videographer in the
Digital Media Services department of East Tennessee State University's Office of
eLearning, where he has provided production, design and post-production services
on a variety of projects. Jake has also done contract work for StudioNow, Oregon
State University, ETSU Online, and a variety of private clients.
In his spare time, Jake creates original artwork, 3d & 2d animation projects, designs, and continues to pursue his love of filmmaking by creating experimental, short, and full-length independent films.
